Responsible gambling and support
If gambling is affecting your money, relationships or wellbeing, stop playing and seek support. You do not need to make another deposit or finish a bonus to ask for help.
The Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction provides this directory of treatment helplines. It does not itself provide gambling treatment.
Decide your limits before playing
Set a money limit and a time limit before you begin. Keep money for rent, bills and other essentials separate, take breaks and never borrow to gamble. Do not chase a loss with another bet.
Ask Starda account support about limits, taking a break or self-exclusion. If you have chosen to self-exclude, do not open another account or look for a way around the restriction.
The Lower-Risk Gambling Guidelines
Canada’s Lower-Risk Gambling Guidelines recommend using all three limits together:
- Spend no more than 1% of household income before tax per month on gambling.
- Gamble on no more than four days per month.
- Avoid regularly taking part in more than two types of gambling.
These are risk-reduction guidelines, not a guarantee of safe gambling. Gambling less, or not gambling at all, may be the better choice if you have a personal or family history of gambling problems, anxiety or depression, or problems involving alcohol or other drugs.

Notice when play is becoming a problem
Take a break and seek help if you regularly spend more than planned, hide your gambling, borrow to keep playing or find it difficult to stop. Support can also help when you are concerned about someone else’s gambling.
Casino play is restricted to adults who meet the legal gambling age and eligibility requirements where they live. People under 18, or under a higher applicable legal age, must not use the casino.
